A BOX TOO FAR

Wed, Jan 18th, 2012 12:00:00 am

A Bendron HD Trailer

A Bendron HD Trailer.  An interesting unload:  with only 2 inches either side to spare, having to go in front first with no wheels or axles attached to make sure it fitted made thsi an interesting unload.

Thanks to all that made getting it out possible.... 1 hour, 2 fork lifts, 5 men and a truck driver willing to pull off while this box was still half in his container.

1929 Stutz

1929 Stutz from auction
Surrounded by MX bikes
Stutz automobile from auction

Bought from a wonderful Australian lady in deepest Georgia this 1929 Stutz was one of 6 or 7 Stutz that her late husband had collected and restored.  She still has a fire engine (the type of which this car was created from back in 1929) with all the original hoses, axes and bell that have not been touched since about 1940.

This one arrived in the UK yesterday, rather unceremoniously but effectively surrounded by MX bikes.....

MOUNTAIN VESPA

Fri, Dec 16th, 2011 12:00:00 am

vintage vespa bought at auction

A 1975 Vespa from the University of Colorado with only 400 Miles on the clock.  Everything is original, grips, tyres, foot pedal runners etc so 400 miles could be right.  It has to be said that it is a little worse the wear for sitting in what must have been a snow drift for the last 30 years.  We bought this at an Auction just because it oozed cool (as well as oil, fuel and bits of rust) not really knowing where it would end up.   Started 2nd kick once we worked out how to turn it on and was ridden around all day, 72 Degrees and Sunny in Atlanta a week before Christmas!  It is now on the way to Melbourne.

LAURA ASHLEY BIKE... well her son's bike anyway

Thu, Dec 15th, 2011 12:00:00 am

Nick Ashley motorbike

I have no idea what this bike is or was but I know it signals the return of Nick Ashley. Nick, son of Laura, is back in London once again. The once eponymous owner of what was the best motorbike clothing store in the UK ("Nick Ashley", closed some 10 years ago) is back in the same location but this time dropping the Nick bit on the shop front and adding Stores after. It is well worth looking in if you are in London... you will know you are there when you see an interesting bike or 2 outside... Ashley Stores is at 57 Ledbury Road, London W11 2AA.

Used motorcycle in France

Why is it that the french have the best bikes knocking about being used everyday?  Whilst you can see the odd cool bike in California and a few in Australia (See the Deus Ex Machina website for examples of what the Aussies can do...,http://au.deuscustoms.com/motorcycles.html),  it is only in France that you see them everyday... it is perhaps the only good reason I can think of to be French in fact,

TRIKE, Chinese style

Trike motorcycle

Who needs trucks when a Trike can do the job.... This one went past me and off the road at about 50 into the distance.
